we were supposed to head into the studio at noon. kenny isn't answering phone calls so we can't go over yet. we're probably going to head out to lunch first. it's mixing time for the album (finally) and for the next couple days we'll be in there from noon to midnight working on it. we'll probably go at a pace of 3-4 songs a day. of course we can knock out the real short and easy ones like Lost Our Heads in like 20 or 30 minutes, so god knows how long this will take. haha everyone be sure to check out www.eastcoastbands.com and watch us on the scary webcam lol. we'll all be dressed the exact same way because we decided to wear dress shirts and ties for the band pictures we're also taking today. if chris gets them developed fast enough maybe i can send you them, jake heh. pictures are not fun to take but we need something for a press kit. thankfully, chris doesn't ever ask us to get in gay thoughtful poses. we never would heh.
i had a weird dream last night. it began with me and someone else walking into silverspring movie theatre together. except, i dunno who the person with me was, but in the dream we seemed pretty close. we were laughing and carrying on into ours seats and as we sat i mentioned that the movie was going to be awful, just like any seventies cop action/drama. the theatre was the same one i saw the They Might Be Giants movie in.
the movie starts with cheesy funk music playing on a black background. this really strange car then drives horizontally across the screen from left to right. it's a very short car that seems squished way too short on all ends and thus is really tall due to it's mass having been compacted. it's painted rusty red-orange and there's this slick bad-ass guy driving it. he looks kinda like derik smalls from spinal tap except he's wearing a leisure suit and a hat with a long feather coming out of it. actually, he looks just like Nick Mason from Pink Floyd circa 1960. the entire band wore various hippy/marching ensemble-esque garments for photo shoots. go check them out on some fan site heh. so, he's driving his bizarro car down this industrial looking factory area. and then the camera pans away from his car and over to a dock along the factory zone. after it travels for quite a bit it centers on a close up of these two legs standing on the sidewalk near the dock. it starts going upwards and the legs belong to this little kid who's standing there upset and bawling. from elbow down, his left arm is entirely encased in a long rectangular block of concrete. maybe this is why he was so upset, i dunno. oh, it's really sunny outside, too. this is all taking place in the middle of a bright day. the boy keeps standing there with his his concrete arm and i begin to think it odd that he can hold up his left arm with all it's weight (he has it up to his face and is trying to wipe his eyes with it). right, as i notice that the film catches and it seems like it rewinds a couple seconds and it does the whole pan up shot from the kids legs and i watch it again. i make an aside comment to my friend at this point but i don't remember what it was. i forget how the dream connected to the next segment, it probably just was disjointed anyways. so, suddenly, i'm in the park next to my house and it's fairly overcast weather. the whole rm crew is there and we're sitting on the swings chatting. doesn't sound so bad to me hehe. there's this kid who looks maybe a year older than us sitting on a bench on the other side of the park but we aren't paying him notice. i think i realize he's watching us with curiosity but i don't pay it any concern.
ah, crap have to go to the studio lol. sorry, if anyone was finding this remotely amusing or interesting. i guess dreams make kinda boring posts, but i haven't posted in awhile haha. maybe i'll finish it sometime later.
um, sorry about your lousy host fam, jake. becky and i will get you those pictures as soon as we can.
i love you, too, becky.
